"The Journey is our purpose, and every new day is our prize"
Be prepared to be swept away on an epic journey that begins with the dawn of humanity and continues to the present day, with a 9-minute side trip to California in the 1970's.
"The Journey" is not only about the journey of our individual lives, it is also about the journey of humanity through the ages. It’s about how we learn and grow and, hopefully, become better vessels for the human spirit.”
The project was produced by Keith Greeninger at Wind River Studios in Santa Cruz, California. The recordings feature the work of many talented musicians, including Keith Greeninger on guitar, John R Burr on piano, Barry Phillips on Cello, Jimmy Norris on drums and Steve Uccello on bass. Multi-instrumentalist, Dayan Kai, added clarinet, saxophone, Dobro, ukulele and guitar to the mix. Several songs also feature intricate interleaving mandolin and guitar parts by Kimbal Hurd and Roger Feuer, Keith's bandmates from the band, City Folk. Sharon Allen also provided backup vocals on two songs and Nick Bianchini layed down a trumpet part on one song.
All of the recordings were engineered by David (DJ) Higdon and Keith Greeninger and were mastered by Michael Romanowski of Coast Mastering.
Cover artwork for the CD was derived by altering the original painting, “New World”, by Russell Brutsché. Cover photography is by Mark Quirmbach.
